In this crucial stage of a child's development, our task is twofold: to ignite a thirst for learning and to foster their growth as people.

With that in mind, children in Years 3 to 5 spend quality time with their form teachers, building lasting relationships that ground them in the very heart of a community in which they are nurtured, encouraged and shaped for the future. Form teachers are in regular and open dialogue with parents, ensuring a shared commitment to every pupil’s wellbeing.

Alongside core subjects taught in form, children enjoy specialist teaching from our wider staff in areas such as Design Technology, Art, Music, ICT, and Sport, where many colleagues have achieved representational and coaching status at professional level.

Co-curricular activities provide important balance: every pupil is involved in a Year Group Play and the Art room is abuzz with activity. Music and Sport are at the core of the Juniors’ experience, and most choose to get involved in our programme of optional Saturday activities.

The glue that binds the whole Sherborne Prep experience together is our commitment to developing pupils holistically, giving them a love of learning, a thirst for knowledge, and a strong work ethic that stays with them forever.

What’s more, we develop their character and resilience, helping them prepare fully for the next phase of School life.
