All children within Sherborne Prep have a designated Form Tutor. In the younger years, this tutor will also teach many lessons to their form so that the bond between child and teacher can be nurtured.

In the more senior year groups, the form tutor will have daily contact with their form and is the initial port of call for pupils, parents, and staff. All form teachers are invested in their form members, both pastorally and academically and work closely with individuals to guide and support them in their journey through the school. Children in the Prep school choose an independent tutor as an additional layer of support for the child. The Deputy Head (Pastoral) oversees the form teachers and the independent tutors. To know each child, to really know them is our priority as when children know they are valued, understood, and have a support network, they will thrive.

Houses

All children are part of one of our Four Houses: Greeks, Normans, Romans and Trojans.

Each House has a number of staff working with the children supporting them through House challenges and community spirit days including House Music Competitions, Sports Day and celebrating national events such as Coronation Day.

The children build a strong identity, and the older children enjoy looking after and working with the younger children within their House. The sense of community, fun and healthy competitiveness is strong and House events are always highlights for both the children and staff each term.
