Sherborne Prep continues to Pioneer Physical Literacy Programme

Oct 8th 2020

We are thrilled to announce that Sherborne Prep have chosen to continue to pioneer a revolutionary system of movement screening by signing on for a further three year partnership with Functional Movement Systems (UK) through to 2023.
For the past 18 months we have worked closely with FMS UK, creating individual passport profiles for our students to build clear development pathways tailored to every individual student. We are amazed by the insights we have discovered and how the tools from this programme have enabled us to lay the foundations for our children’s health and wellbeing.

This programme has not only made an objective difference in our students movement patterns but also in their confidence and health as a whole. It has been an incredibly informative experience for our teachers and coaches who have gained an invaluable insight into the physical wellbeing of each and every child in the Prep school community as a result. The positive impact of working with FMS UK has been felt throughout the school community, both in and out of the classroom. This partnership is about far more than the physical development of the children in our care and being at the forefront of their programme continues to be exciting” commented Huw Thomas, Director of Operations and Co-Curricular at Sherborne Prep.

We are delighted that Sherborne Prep have benefited from our programme and are excited to continue putting their children’s health and wellbeing as a top priority. It has been incredibly enjoyable working with such an energetic and forward thinking school who put their pupil’s future in society at the forefront of their vision.” said FMS UK Chief Executive, Peter Bowler.

The benefits of this programme will continue to positively enhance all aspects of our student’s school life, during their time at the Prep. This relationship with FMS UK reinforces our continuing commitment to providing the best possible outcomes and support for each and every pupil within our community.” Nick Folland, Headmaster, Sherborne Prep School.
