Romans meet Romans in Bath

Mar 26th 2014

Year 3's Romans, Trojans, Greeks and Normans travelled back in time to Bath on a history outing to find out more about the Romans in Britain.

When they arrived they were encouraged by our hosts at the Baths to dress up as Romans in togas and tunics. They then made mosaics from tiles and the chance to handle real Roman artefacts! After lunch the children were given a guided tour around the Baths where they learnt about the 'bathing rituals' used by the Romans. They also made an offering to the goddess Minerva and drank some of the specially treated mineral water - straight from the spring! After this it was time to return back to school and all the children were tired but very excited by the experiences of the day.
