This week our focus in assemblies is remembrance. We held our own silence on Wednesday and Archie S-B played The Last Post. Our Head Boy (Thomas G) and Girl (Rosanna T) read out the names of Old Preppers who fell in the two wars and then ceramic poppies were planted by the rose arch. I find young people to be genuinely respectful and interested in this event. In assembly on Monday I showed a film that our Year 8 boys had made over half term. It was their own take on the D Day landings, edited and shot by Archie A at Brean Beach. It was quite superb and wonderfully constructed. An artist and film maker in the making for sure! We have also sent cards and home-made poppies to local care homes which our junior years have been busy making. I have already had feedback from local residents who were thrilled to receive them. One such note, decorated with a poppy, said "Thank you so much for fighting hard in the second world war. You have saved so many people in England." The lady who received this said it had made her day and week and what a great young man he is!
