As we are all very aware these are different times, and COVID 19 has presented challenges for all sorts of communities, not least schools. We were thrilled to see all the children back at School at the end of the summer term for mornings only. This proved to be a very useful trial run for us in the build up to full time school this September. At Sherborne Prep we have been determined to provide as full a package as we can for the children. A huge part of our Prep School is the breadth we offer. Our boarders live here, but our day pupils are also here from 8 am to 5 or 6 pm every day. This gives us the time to develop this breadth in and out of the classroom for all ages. The creative subjects are important to us, as is outdoor learning, as is sport. It has been wonderful to see the children back to being active, supporting each other, as well as competing against each other. This is something they dearly missed in the lock down period. We cannot play our fixtures at the moment, but as soon as we can we will. We have been able to offer all our specialist teaching as normal. The art, music, drama and DT rooms are full of activity. Our staff and children have upskilled considerably in the use of IT. If pupils are away, we now live stream them into the lessons. We are prepared for different scenarios and are flexible.
