EU/EEA pupils at Sherborne Prep School post Brexit
Britain left the EU/EEA on 31st January 2020. Whilst rights of free movement for EU/EEA nationals have now ceased, there are no immediate consequences in terms of travel for children currently studying with us or who intend to do so up to 31st December 2020. Children travelling abroad for half terms or exeats prior to this date will be provided with a letter from the school confirming that they are students at Sherborne Prep School to help at the UK Border.
After 31st December 2021, the rules regarding European citizens coming to study in the UK will change. The new Immigration Rules are currently being drafted by the UK Government. It is anticipated that EU/EEA children will be required to undertake some form of visa process to bring them into line with the current immigration requirements for non-EU/EEA overseas children, i.e. Tier 4 Study Child Visas.
We welcome applications for children to join us from all over the world and if you have any questions about the school, please do not hesitate to speak to our Admissions Team who will be happy to help.
