What We Stand For

At the heart of our life together are our “Dragon” values, which run through everything we do. They are:

  • Kindness – the most important of all
  • Perseverance
  • Awareness
  • Generosity
  • Honesty
  • Independence

These values are regularly discussed in assemblies and form a key part of our life as a community. They help us all to be the best version of ourselves, and help others do the same. They ensure every pupil is aware of the people around them, developing resilience that stays with them for life. With that in mind, we encourage pupils to develop a growth mindset in which they learn from their failures, as well as celebrating their successes.

We are committed to being a community that has a shared identity and a global outlook, with pupils who want to make a difference to the world around them.

The Sherborne Prep Dragon values are based on the Christian ethos however we welcome children from all faiths.

Our Ethos

Sherborne Prep is a vibrant independent school offering a broad and stimulating curriculum and a friendly environment in which children are encouraged to be children. Over their time at School, our pupils learn to question and reason, so they are ready to seize every opportunity that comes their way and fulfil their potential.

We nurture happy, enthusiastic and independent children, encouraged at every turn to smile and give their best, showing kindness in all they do. We celebrate individuality, at the same time as valuing our community and looking out for each other.
