Welcome from the Headmaster

It is important to remember what good schools are about - enthusing children, teaching them how to learn independence of thought and action along with good manners and consideration for others, while providing a good all-round education. Sherborne Prep is full of passion and purpose. Schools should be bubbling over with energy and ideas, places you want to be. I do, I love the buzz of The Prep, the friendliness and enthusiasm and the fact that the children take such pleasure in being here.

It is important that prep schools are not their own little worlds; our strap-line 'non nobis solum' (not for ourselves alone) encapsulates the importance we place on looking outwards, in being a part of the community and learning to be generous in thought and action. We encourage the child not to see themselves as the centre but as part of a greater whole.

We want children who will have the confidence and work ethic to make a difference in the world they are growing up in and the confidence and enthusiasm to always give their best.
