The whole school gathered together last Thursday morning to take part in our Act of Remembrance, led by our Honorary Chaplain Revd. Becky Ayres-Harris. "The Rev", as the children affectionately call her, spoke about different ways in our everyday lives that we remind ourselves to do things, and how important it is to remember the suffering and sacrifice of those military and civilian personnel who fought in both World Wars, by wearing a poppy. Joseph and Willa were our "buglers" for the occasion and played the Last Post and the Reveille with great feeling. After the 2 minute silence the prefects and the Headmaster then conducted our poppy planting ceremony, and placed our ceramic poppies in the border outside the front door.
Again, on Saturday, at the eleventh hour of the day of the eleventh month, the whole schoool came to a standstill to observe a 2 minute silence, before resuming their activities. Our third and final part of Remembrance involved the Headboy and Headgirl, Peter and Imogen, representing the Prep at the town's Remembrance parade, and laying a wreath on behalf of the School.
