Boarding at Sherborne Prep is great fun!

We have two boarding houses: Acreman for the boys and Netherton for the girls.

The Housemasters and Housemistresses ensure boarding is enjoyable and there is a real family feel to both houses.

During the week boarders have the opportunity after prep and supper to take part in various games and activities including cricket, football, uni-hock, table tennis, board games, jewellery making and scalextric.

Toast and hot chocolate are enjoyed before bedtime.

On Saturdays boarders not involved in matches go out for a walk and into Sherborne for tuck shopping. On Sundays boarders can stay in bed longer than normal and enjoy a continental style breakfast.

Breakfast is usually followed by a chapel service, activities, Sunday lunch and then a visit to somewhere exciting. Recent visits have included a trip to Cheddar Gorge Caves, Lazerage, Ten-Pin Bowling, Moors Valley Country Park, Splashdown and fossil hunting at Lyme Regis.

At Christmas the boarders and their parents or guardians have a special Sunday lunch followed by Secret Santa and a party.

Our boarders are looked after by a boarding team consisting of the Head of Boarding and Assistant Housemasters (Acreman), Housemistress and Assistant Housemistress (Netherton), Matron (Acreman) and three Gap students from Australia and New Zealand. They all ensure that boarders are happy, courteous, independent and proud of being a boarder offering a friendly, safe, and enjoyable experience for all boarders, whether they are full or flexi.
