Prep Pupils win Gifted & Talented Project |
 Joint Schools' Gifted and Talented Project at The Gryphon School
Sherborne Prep pupils put together a presentation on "How Sherborne can make the most of the Olympics coming to London and Weymouth in 2012". The final presentations were judged by a panel of local business people, including Mayor Boustred, and prizes were awarded for Best Presentation, Best Teamwork and Best Overall Presentation. Lizzie Fernley and Beth Shead's team won the overall prize Eleanor Evason's team won the teamwork prize Alice Ellwood's team were commended for their original presentation style. Congratulations to all the teams on their excellent work. |

Sherborne Girls' Madrigal Society came to Sherborne Prep School to showcase what they do. Thank you to them for an uplifting and fantastic performance. What a wonderful way to start the day! |

Year 3 Archaeological Dig |
|
Year 3 pupils took part in an achaelogical dig as part of this term's topic exploring the Aztecs. Pupils were given a grid reference and worked in pairs, gently scraping away the earth to reveal the hidden treasures beneath. The children were excited to discover a treasure trove of necklaces, bracelets and icons, all in the grounds of the school! As well as having a fabulous time and lots of fun, the project will enable the children to develop skills in lots of curriculum areas, including maths, literacy, ICT and art. History really did come to life at Sherborne Prep! |

The Prep pupils had a wonderful opportunity to be involved in another BBC production. The Great British Novel being made for BBC2 and presented by Sebastian Faulks will be shown in the Spring. The Year 8 boys were involved with a scene from Lord of the Flies, re-enacting a fascinating William Golding experiment. .jpg "Image")
