The Admissions Process

We are delighted you are considering Sherborne Prep for your child. We are very happy to talk to you to help you through the decision making process and we are keen to build up a relationship with our families before the children join the School and take pride in being a family School.

To visit the School in person is the best way to really experience the atmosphere so do contact us to make an arrangement to visit us at a time to suit you, we are very flexible.

Once you have visited and are interested in applying for a place at Sherborne Prep we suggest your child comes and has a taster day with us.

A taster day at the School for your child


Most families like to send their children to spend a day with us and if they are boarding a night too, before they make their final decision. This is not essential but it will give your child the chance to meet other children in their year group, the staff and find out a little more about life at Sherborne Prep.

Registering for a place


You will need to complete a registration form for each child to request a place at the School. There is a form in the back of the prospectus pack which once completed and signed should be returned to The Registrar together with the registration fee. All registrations will be acknowledged and you will be advised of the next stage, or you can download a registration form

Accepting a place


Once the offer of a place at Sherborne Prep has been made you will need to confirm your acceptance of this by completing the acceptance form that will have been sent to you with the School's terms and conditions. It needs to be signed and returned to The Registrar. A refundable deposit is required from Year 3 upwards.

1 medium egg

90ml milk

125g self raising flour, sifted

½ teaspoon baking powder, sifted

Finely grated zest of 1 lemon

250g black cherries, pitted
